Located on a hillside site at Tat Hong Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, the project comprises four student hostel blocks ranging from 9 to 15 stories. With a total Gross Floor Area (GFA) of 195,000 m², the development utilizes 873 steel-structure Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) modules. Upon completion, it will provide 1,680 bed spaces, effectively alleviating the university’s housing shortage while creating a comfortable and secure residential environment for students. The architectural program features public facilities from the basement to the 4th floor, a communal sky-deck on the 5th floor connecting all towers, and residential units from the 6th floor upwards.

Facing challenges such as complex topography and a compressed construction schedule, AluHouse integrated Q690 high-strength steel and blockchain technology into the development of the PolyU Hostel at Kowloon Tong. By adopting an “off-site prefabrication, on-site assembly” model, the project achieved seamless synergy across design, production, and construction. This approach has significantly shortened the construction cycle and provided robust technical assurance for the project’s successful delivery.
