Recently, AluHouse successfully won the bid for a townhouse development project in Auckland, New Zealand, further extending its overseas MiC modular building footprint into the residential development sector in Oceania.
The project is located in the Avondale area of Auckland and is planned as a three-story medium-density townhouse community. It will comprise 11 townhouse buildings, with a total site area of approximately 1,300 square meters, assembled from around 33 large-volume steel-structure MiC modules. As New Zealand’s most populous city, Auckland has in recent years continued to promote housing supply growth, with medium-density housing becoming an important product type for improving land-use efficiency and increasing urban housing supply.
In response to New Zealand’s building codes and material standards, AluHouse has carried out localized design and manufacturing, providing an integrated modular housing solution covering module R&D and design, factory prefabrication, aluminum curtain wall system support, and on-site installation technical assistance.

At present, New Zealand’s modular construction market is entering a period of rapid growth. Local housing shortages, rising construction costs, and a lack of skilled labor are together accelerating the industry’s shift toward Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Medium-density residential development has become a core direction for urban infill, and modular construction, with its advantages of controllable schedules, stable quality, and efficient resource utilization, is widely regarded by the market as an effective way to alleviate the imbalance between housing supply and demand. At the same time, through innovations in certification and approval systems, the New Zealand government has provided institutional support for the standardized manufacturing and scaled adoption of modular construction, helping modular building move gradually from a marginal option to a mainstream choice.

In response to the New Zealand market’s urgent demand for efficient construction methods, AluHouse is bringing its mature modular product system and global delivery capabilities into the local housing sector through a modern construction model of “factory manufacturing + on-site assembly.” From concept design, technical detailing, and factory production to international logistics, localized delivery, and on-site support, AluHouse has established a global delivery system spanning the entire project lifecycle, enabling rapid adaptation to the building standards, transportation conditions, and climate environments of different countries and regions.
This project award marks another important step in AluHouse’s expansion in the Oceania market. It further enriches the company’s overseas project experience across different building codes, site conditions, and residential typologies, while building momentum for its future participation in local townhouse and medium-density housing projects.
