On 2 December, the 2023 Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Awards ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. AluHouse was awarded the Merit Award in the Manufacturing and Industrial Services category of the Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Awards for its green and environmentally friendly practices in the field of construction. This honour highlights AluHouse's outstanding performance in promoting sustainable construction and provides new momentum for its development in the green building sector.

The "Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Awards", regarded as the most credible and representative awards in Hong Kong's environmental sector, are led by the Hong Kong Environmental Campaign Committee, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Environment and Ecology Bureau and nine other organisations. The awards aim to encourage enterprises and institutions to implement environmental management, compare the best practices within their respective sectors, and recognise organisations demonstrating outstanding performance in environmental protection.

At the awards ceremony, Mr John Lee, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, congratulated the award-winning companies, organisations, and schools through a video message, commending businesses and organisations for their relentless efforts in the environmental sector and their outstanding contributions towards building a greener Hong Kong.

Since its establishment in 2014, AluHouse, as one of the first MiC manufacturers recognised by the Buildings Department, has actively responded to Hong Kong's sustainable development goals, promoting the application of MiC technology in the construction sector and recording the carbon footprint in the production process of MiC modules, providing data support for energy conservation and emission reduction in buildings. In the field of modular construction technology, AluHouse has optimised materials and applied MiC technology to deconstruct buildings into factory-prefabricated modules, effectively reducing on-site noise, wastewater, energy consumption, material waste, and transportation losses. In addition, the company adopts green materials and construction methods to further reduce environmental impact, enhance the carbon reduction performance in building production and construction processes, and promote the development of green buildings through technological innovation and green practices.

Being awarded the "Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Award" this time is a recognition of AluHouse's years of commitment to green and environmentally friendly practices, as well as an acknowledgment of its continuous exploration and innovation in the field of green building. In the future, AluHouse will continue to uphold the green concept, further enhance the carbon reduction performance in building production and construction processes, promote the development of green buildings, and contribute more to the sustainable development of Hong Kong society.
